THE HARVARD « DIN & TONICS »
———————————————————-————–-——-—-————–-——-—-———
À l’occasion de leur passage en Europe les « Dins & Tonics » de l’Université de Harvard feront escale au Cercle Munster l’avant veille de la fête nationale pour agrémenter un dîner avec leurs magnifiques chants « a capela ».
The Birth of a Din
Established in 1979, The Harvard Din & Tonics originally began as the Dunster Dunces, an all-male a cappella group at Harvard during the 1940's. The Dins quickly outgrew and today their repertoire includes songs from the entire musical spectrum. Primarily performing jazz standards but also throwing in a bit of gospel and calypso, the Dins continue to delight audiences by combining the traditional with the unexpected: consistently adding original, humorous, engaging choreography, we uniquely perform a cappella..."with a twist." They have also displayed their talent to many celebrities, whose impressions of the group are best expressed by Ella Fitzgerald, who wrote: "I enjoyed tremendously seeing you perform . . . Not only were you entertaining and witty, but I was very impressed with your vocal skills and musicianship."
